Overview of the Position:

ORBCOMM is seeking a dynamic and driven Senior Vice President of Sales to lead our sales initiatives. This role will entail overseeing the sales of ORBCOMM's innovative products and services. The ideal candidate will manage a team of Business Development Managers, achieve quarterly sales objectives, foster and maintain vital customer relationships, and establish strategic partnerships while contributing ideas for sales strategies and their execution. We are in search of an individual with a creative approach and exceptional communication abilities. This position will report directly to the Senior Vice President of North America Sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Business Development Managers.
  • Develop and articulate the strategic vision for sales.
  • Translate the strategic vision into actionable sales plans and results-driven initiatives.
  • Enhance and refine processes and procedures as necessary.
  • Monitor and discuss the progress of sales goals and other key objectives.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with existing customers to better understand their needs.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with the company's services, focusing on high-return and profitable ventures.
  • Analyze competitor activities and the overall competitive landscape.
  • Provide regular updates on new opportunities to ensure accurate forecasting.
  • Compile monthly sales reviews and forecasts in alignment with established targets.
  • Utilize leadership skills to bridge gaps between actual and projected results.
  • Align team skills and talents with tasks to maximize engagement and performance.
  • Guide the team in securing new business from existing accounts.
  • Offer coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities to enhance team skills and performance.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with customers, business unit leaders, and senior management to ensure collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the executive leadership team.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in Sales Management within the IoT and/or Satellite/Connectivity sectors.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel nationally on a regular basis.
  • Proficient in MS Teams, MS Office Suite, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and SFDC.
  • Strong geographical awareness.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure while meeting deadlines and maintaining a positive attitude.
