Critical Care Nurse

Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Close Observation Unit. As a critical care nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing care for critically ill patients in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, developing individualized care plans to meet their unique requirements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal outcomes.
- Administer medications, perform procedures, and provide education to patients and families.
- Monitor patients' conditions, identifying potential complications and taking proactive measures to prevent them.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, ensuring clear understanding and empathy.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of best practices and policies.
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current ACLS certification, with ongoing requirements.
- Recent critical care experience, with a preference for Critical Care Certificate holders.
- Telemetry experience, with proficiency in intravenous initiation and maintenance.
- Completion of Coronary Care 1 or equivalent, with patient assessment skills essential.
- Familiarity with online documentation, with excellent communication skills and ability to function as an interactive team member.
- Strong functional assessment, problem-solving, leadership, and teaching skills, with the ability to meet physical demands of the position.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record.
