Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Critical Care Unit. As a critical care nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, and implement care for critically ill patients, utilizing evidence-based practice and critical thinking skills.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including medication management, wound care, and pain management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical practices, research, and technologies to provide best-in-class care.
Requirements
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • Recent critical care experience.
  • Critical Care Certificate preferred.
  • Telemetry experience.
  • Intravenous initiation and maintenance skills.
  • Completion of Coronary Care 1 or equivalent.
  • Patient Assessment skills.
  • Familiarity with online documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong functional assessment, problem-solving, leadership, and teaching skills.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record.
