Job Summary:

The Weir Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Innovation to lead our research and development efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving our technology vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Technology Leadership: Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with our long-term vision of being a leading digital mining productivity partner. Develop a five-year product and technology roadmap that integrates customer needs, competitive analysis, and market trends to achieve business objectives and deliver compelling value propositions.
  • Market Understanding and Business Development: Gain a deep understanding of market dynamics, competition, and revenue opportunities. Develop comprehensive business cases and plans for new opportunities, prioritizing initiatives based on corporate goals and objectives.
  • Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
    • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical or related). MBA strongly preferred.
    • Expertise: Proven ability to translate technical products and solutions into tangible value propositions for customers. Strong leadership and building effective teams is required. The ability to operationalize creative concepts, avoiding purely theoretical or impractical solutions, is essential.
  • Compensation: $191,000 CAD. Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location.
