Senior Scientist in Polymer and Bioconjugate Research
Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated Senior Scientist specializing in Polymer and Bioconjugate Chemistry to enhance our dynamic mass cytometry team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently develop novel reagents for mass cytometry applications.
- Conduct thorough literature reviews and formulate strategic scientific plans.
- Synthesize and modify polymers and other organic/inorganic compounds.
- Utilize advanced chemical analytical techniques (e.g., GPC, NMR) for reagent characterization.
- Conjugate synthesized reagents with biomolecules, including antibodies.
- Employ reagents in bioanalytical assays to stain cells or tissues, and analyze bioanalytical data.
- Ensure all work is directed towards creating practical and marketable products.
- Document the feasibility of new reagents through comprehensive reports detailing protocols and manufacturability.
- Support existing product scale-up and troubleshoot performance issues.
- Collaborate with academic partners and serve as a point of contact for external collaborations.
- Prepare and submit invention disclosures to the intellectual property department.
- Present original research findings and literature reviews at team meetings.
- Write and submit research papers to peer-reviewed journals and participate in scientific conferences.
- Act as the primary user and trainer for essential laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers across various fields.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Chemistry or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges and lead projects to completion.
- Experience in polymer synthesis and modifications, with knowledge of organic and inorganic synthesis being advantageous.
- Proficiency in various chemical and polymer characterization methods.
- Experience in modifying biomolecules and purifying resulting bioconjugates.
- Familiarity with complex analytical instruments, such as ICP-MS and HPLC.
- Knowledge of flow cytometry and mass cytometry techniques is a plus.
- Strong skills in technical writing and the ability to develop laboratory protocols.
- Understanding of Design Control, ISO 13485, and regulatory standards is beneficial.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Willingness to relocate if necessary.
