{"About the Opportunity": "We are seeking a skilled Clinical Outreach Specialist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our mental health and addictions team, you will provide clinical services to adults and their families affected by mental illness and/or substance use or gambling disorder. Your expertise will be instrumental in navigating, advocating, and coordinating resources and services within our organization and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide clinical services, including screening, assessment, brief intervention, case management/navigation, individual and group treatment
* Work in both clinic and community settings, with a focus on providing support to those who are unhoused or living in encampments
* Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with colleagues, clients, and community organizations
* Utilize principles of harm reduction, community development, and psychosocial rehabilitation in your practice

Requirements:

* Bachelor of Social Work degree
* Registration or eligibility for registration with a professional regulatory body
* One year post-BSW clinical experience in mental health and addictions
* Screening and risk assessment skills, including suicide risk assessment
* Ability to navigate and de-escalate situations and offer crisis support
* Experience working with the unhoused community
* Group facilitation skills
* Ability to use motivational interviewing skills and engage with clients/families
* Demonstrated knowledge of community resources and program development methods
* Demonstrated knowledge of recovery-oriented practice and client-centered care
* Knowledge of social determinants of health and its importance to decision formulation
* Knowledge and experience with a trauma-informed care approach
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Demonstrated ability to make sound and reliable clinical decisions
* Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
* Access to a reliable vehicle for travel

What We Offer:

* Competitive hourly rate of $42.01
* Casual full-time assignment with 75 hours biweekly
* Approximately 1-year term
* 65% of this position requires travel to provide outreach within the community
