The OSI Clinic focuses on addressing psychological challenges related to work-related stress and trauma, including conditions such as Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety disorders, and chronic pain. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive care for our clients and their families.
Your Responsibilities- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and provide evidence-based treatment to veterans and their families.
- Engage in educational outreach with stakeholders, including district offices and referral counselors.
- Utilize telehealth technologies to extend services to remote communities.
- Collaborate with the Canadian network of OSI clinics and contribute to national initiatives.
- Participate in research activities, including the preparation of grant proposals aligned with clinic objectives.
- Adhere to safety practices and comply with organizational policies and guidelines.
- Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Psychologists Act of Nova Scotia.
- Completion of a CPA/APA accredited internship or residency in clinical psychology.
- Experience in diagnosing and treating anxiety, mood disorders, and PTSD using evidence-based methods.
- Proficiency in trauma-focused therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and others.
- Experience in interdisciplinary team settings is essential.
- Familiarity with military or law enforcement environments is an asset.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to foster positive working relationships.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Competencies in additional languages, particularly French, are advantageous.
