Administrative Assistant for Regional Programs in Forensic Psychiatry

This position is crucial for supporting a multi-disciplinary team within the forensic psychiatric services sector. The role requires full vaccination against COVID-19.

Under the guidance of the Clinic Administration Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering essential clerical support. This encompasses a variety of tasks such as transcribing medical documentation, managing reception duties, entering data into systems, maintaining schedules and client records, organizing meetings, and executing various clerical responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transcribe medical documentation, including court reports and clinical notes
  • Manage reception duties and respond to inquiries
  • Process client referrals and input data accurately
  • Maintain and update client records and schedules
  • Type a range of non-technical documents
  • Coordinate meetings and document minutes
  • Oversee records and supply inventory
  • Ensure a safe and efficient working environment
  • Execute various clerical tasks as required
  • Engage in team meetings and contribute to planning initiatives
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12 with training in medical transcription and relevant experience
  • Proficient keyboarding skills of at least 60 words per minute
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Capability to organize tasks and utilize related equipment
  • Commitment to reconciliation and understanding of indigenous community issues
  • Awareness of the social, economic, political, and historical contexts affecting indigenous populations
