Job Title: Forensic Community Specialist

BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Forensic Community Specialist to join our team in Victoria, BC.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) to provide high-quality care to individuals with complex mental health and substance use challenges. As a Forensic Community Specialist, you will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide community-based services, including assessment, treatment, and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to address the unique needs of each client.
  • Provide case coordination and advocacy services to ensure seamless transitions between services and support systems.
  • Maintain accurate and concise documentation of client information, including progress notes and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with community resources, including mental health teams, private psychiatrists, and social service agencies, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families on mental health, substance use, and related topics.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
  • Two (2) years recent, related experience working with individuals with severe and persistent psychiatric illness.
  • Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Valid BC Drivers License.
