Join the BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services team as a Forensic Community & Liaison Nurse. This role is centered in Victoria and focuses on delivering holistic care and support to individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges who have interacted with the legal system.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing evaluations and create tailored treatment strategies based on clinical assessments.
- Coordinate care and advocate for clients, ensuring seamless transitions in their treatment journey.
- Maintain precise records of client interactions and progress.
- Provide nursing services, support, and follow-up as required.
- Assist clients in accessing psychiatric and social resources.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in working with individuals experiencing psychiatric disorders.
- Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives.
- Possession of a valid BC Driver's License.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong commitment to understanding legislative responsibilities and provincial commitments.
- Awareness of the social, economic, and historical factors affecting indigenous communities.
