Candidate Profile

We are seeking a skilled professional for the position of Assistant Vice President in Client Services. This role involves collaborating with leading asset management and institutional organizations. Under the guidance of a manager, the Assistant Vice President will oversee daily operations and manage client relationships, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction. This position serves as a key escalation point for client inquiries and requests, coordinating services for fund/product launches, restructures, and liaising with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery. Responsibilities also encompass managing operational risk and compliance issues related to assigned client accounts, as well as collaborating with internal teams for tailored client reporting. The individual will lead projects focused on training, client-specific reporting design, and support for RFP activities.

Key Responsibilities

As the Client Service AVP, your responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing a diverse portfolio of clients while supporting senior management with larger, more complex relationships.
  • Leading a team of officers and associates, providing direction and mentorship.
  • Ensuring daily service delivery aligns with Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators, while proactively identifying client needs and potential internal challenges.
  • Facilitating effective communication between Client Services and other business units to foster a productive operational environment.
  • Coordinating the launch of new funds, systems, and processes, ensuring timely fee implementation and receivables collection.
  • Managing client conversions and significant client projects, including market entries and major fund events.
  • Providing comprehensive project management for client and systems initiatives, acting as a liaison to ensure successful implementation.
  • Engaging in strategic efforts to maintain and enhance long-term client relationships, keeping senior management informed of developments and opportunities for cross-selling.
  • Assisting with compliance and fiduciary reviews and audits.
  • Coordinating client training on State Street interfaces.
  • Participating in committees and contributing to the definition and implementation of new company initiatives.

  • Familiarity with financial operations and related industries is advantageous.

Educational Background and Qualifications

  • A BS/BA degree is required, preferably in Business.
  • A minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience in financial services or investment operations, including 4-5 years in a management role.
  • Experience in relationship management with strong communication skills and presentation experience is essential.
  • Knowledge of financial operations and/or mutual fund industries is a plus.
  • An MBA is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% is required.
