About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Coordinator to join our team at CO_38 Bird Construction Group. As a key member of our project management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Project Managers in administering project plans and ensuring field operations are executed effectively.
  • Assist in identifying business development opportunities and supporting proposal responses.
  • Collaborate with the Project Assistant in administrative project setup and document control.
  • Participate in preconstruction planning activities, including look-ahead schedules, HSE, procurement, construction logistics, and project execution plans.
  • Support tender package submittal, subcontractor tender package recommendation, and SAP upload sheet.
  • Assist in obtaining all necessary permits and local authority permissions.
  • Work closely with team members and decision-makers to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective project delivery.
  • Support VDC team with logistic planning, clash identification/resolution, and 4D scheduling.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to minimize task work and ensure project execution.
  • Assist with price change orders, track requests for information, review and coordinate approvals of shop drawings, and coordination of information provided and required by sub-trades and suppliers.
  • Prepare and update project budgets, schedules, and cost reports during construction.
  • Participate in weekly subcontract progress meetings and progress tracking.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining weekly master project schedules and ensure Superintendent look-aheads are aligned.
  • Monitor productivity rates and subcontractor planned vs. actuals in the schedule.
  • Support management of subcontracts, including monitoring notification periods and value increases.
  • Assist in managing payments, settling disputes if they arise, and subcontractor performance evaluations.
  • Identify, address, and resolve issues and problems as they occur.
  • Manage subcontract submittals.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, sub-trades, and suppliers.
  • Assist in ensuring project health, safety, and environmental standards meet legislated requirements and company policy.
  • Assist in managing BIM/VDC on site with trades and consultants.
  • Support the Project Manager in ensuring total completion of the project, including contractually and financially.
  • Assist in completing project close-out, including close-out reports, final purchase orders, and outstanding charges.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or construction management.
  • Eligible for, or have attained, E.I.T., P. Eng., CET, or PQS designations.
  • 1-3 years' experience in project coordination, supplemented by other aspects of construction management, including cost estimating, direct project management of large commercial, high-rise, civil, and/or institutional construction projects.
  • Ability to forge, grow, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet time demands of unpredictable activities.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritize work to achieve them.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
