Position Overview

The Association of Canadian Archivists is currently seeking an Archival Assistant to support the preservation and documentation of historical materials.

Role Responsibilities
  • Assist in the collection and documentation of oral histories.
  • Work on the acquisition of related artifacts and visual materials.
  • Contribute to the development of interpretive content for archival exhibitions.
  • Ensure the preservation of materials within the archival collection.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Training or experience in archival practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with audio recording equipment is advantageous.
  • Background in oral history projects is preferred.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada, including a valid social insurance number.
  • A degree from a recognized college or university.
  • Registration in the YCW online candidate inventory.
Additional Requirements

This position necessitates a Criminal Record Check and a Child Abuse Registry Check.
