Position Overview

The role of the Food Service Shift Supervisor involves overseeing daily operations in a fast-paced culinary environment. This position requires a blend of leadership, organization, and customer service skills to ensure a seamless dining experience.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year in a supervisory role within food services
Work Environment

The work site is characterized by a noisy atmosphere, requiring the ability to thrive under pressure and manage tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strategies to achieve work schedules
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff responsible for food preparation and portioning
  • Train employees on job responsibilities, sanitation practices, and safety protocols
  • Recruit and hire food service personnel
  • Ensure compliance with quality control standards for food and service
  • Prepare financial budgets and cost estimates
  • Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns
  • Maintain comprehensive records of inventory, repairs, sales, and waste
  • Compile and submit operational reports
  • Prepare food order summaries for the culinary team
  • Oversee the assembly of meal trays
  • Establish and manage work schedules for staff
Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct supervision of 3-4 staff members.
