POSITION SUMMARY
The Eddy Current Testing (ECT) Trainee in Inspection Services plays a supportive role by engaging in routine technical tasks under the guidance of more experienced ECT technicians.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities:
- Assist with mock-up maintenance, tool assortment, and inventory under the close supervision of senior technicians or supervisors.
- Participate in the execution of inspection and outage projects as a trainee.
- Perform general non-destructive testing (NDT) tasks in the field.
- Support senior technicians in pre-deployment preparations.
- Complete inspection forms, logs, records, and check sheets accurately with assistance from the acquisition (ACQ) Operator.
- Help review equipment prior to deployment on-site.
- Assist in setting up tests utilizing various test materials and equipment.
- Prepare hardware or equipment for operational use.
- Conduct parts of field tests under the direction of ET Level I or II personnel.
- Comply with all quality and safety standards while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrate awareness and appreciation for Continuous Improvement processes.
- Recognize process controls and assist in the setup, calibration, and testing of equipment under supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Technician/Technologist diploma: college graduate in an electrical, mechanical, or NDE discipline or equivalent relevant experience (0 to 2 years).
- Currently pursuing Level I NDT Technician certification with ECT.
- Willingness to travel for site work, with expectations of 70% to 80% travel.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to identify and resolve conflicts effectively.
