We are seeking a qualified Eddy Current Testing Technician I to join our dynamic team. This role involves performing essential technical tasks that support the design, evaluation, and operational processes of various systems and equipment.
PRIMARY DUTIES
The Eddy Current Testing Technician I will be responsible for the following:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams and Project Management to ensure project success.
- Engaging in the execution of inspection and outage projects, with roles assigned based on qualifications.
- Coordinating inspection priorities with supervisors and adhering to established procedures.
- Participating in Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) tasks in the field.
- Providing hands-on support for all pre-deployment activities.
- Completing inspection documentation accurately, including forms, logs, and records.
- Assisting in the assembly, testing, and refurbishment of equipment prior to deployment.
- Conducting a variety of standard tests and inspections as directed, using sound judgment to obtain results.
- Setting up tests using various materials and equipment under supervision.
- Documenting test results for comparison against defined standards and noting any significant occurrences.
- Preparing equipment for operational readiness.
- Executing components of field tests with guidance from experienced personnel.
- Upholding quality and safety standards while focusing on customer satisfaction.
- Embracing a culture of Continuous Improvement.
- Performing process controls, calibration, and testing of equipment under supervision.
- Assisting in training field staff for project execution as needed.
- Supporting necessary paperwork transactions for inspections in compliance with internal processes.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
During outage work, the technician may also:
- Undertake acquisition operator duties if qualified.
- Provide support in inventory management and equipment control.
- Assist with the logistics of equipment shipment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A diploma in a relevant technical field (electrical, mechanical, or NDE) or equivalent experience (2-3 years).
- Certification as a Level I NDT Technician with ECT qualifications.
- Familiarity with NDT methods and the ability to provide on-the-job training to trainees.
- Mechanical experience with NDT equipment is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel for site work (up to 70-80% expected).
- Strong interpersonal skills with conflict resolution capabilities.
- Proven ability to conduct tests to ensure quality and detect defects using NDT methods.
- Competence in inspecting Heat Exchangers using the ECT method.
