We are seeking a dedicated Eddy Current Testing (ECT) Technician I to join our team.

JOB OBJECTIVE

The ECT Technician I is responsible for executing standard technical tasks that support the design, evaluation, production, and operation of various systems and equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

General Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and assist Project Management.
  • Engage in the execution of inspection and outage projects, with roles determined by qualifications.
  • Coordinate tasks and priorities with supervisors or lead technicians to ensure effective inspection completion.
  • Participate in Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) activities in the field.
  • Provide hands-on support for all pre-deployment tasks.
  • Complete inspection documentation accurately as per acquisition operator requirements.
  • Assist in the assembly, testing, and refurbishment of equipment prior to deployment.
  • Conduct various standard tests and inspections following provided instructions, applying judgment as necessary.
  • Set up tests using diverse materials and equipment according to guidance.
  • Document test outcomes for comparison against established standards, noting any significant anomalies.
  • Prepare equipment for operational readiness.
  • Carry out field tests under the supervision of a Level II Technician.
  • Comply with all quality and safety protocols while maintaining a strong customer focus.
  • Foster an understanding of Continuous Improvement processes.
  • Under supervision, perform equipment calibration and testing.
  • May assist in training field personnel for project execution.
  • Help manage paperwork for ECT inspections as per internal processes.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES DURING OUTAGE WORK

  • May perform duties as an acquisition operator or assistant if qualified.
  • Depending on experience, may temporarily assume Outage Lead responsibilities as needed.
  • Support inventory management and control.
  • Assist with equipment inventory and organization.
  • Help during equipment shipping processes, including packing and receiving.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in Technician/Technologist field: electrical, mechanical, or NDE discipline, or equivalent experience (2-3 years).
  • Certification as a Level I NDT Technician with ECT specialization.
  • Familiarity with the scope and limitations of NDT methods and responsibility for on-the-job training.
  • Mechanical experience with NDT industrial equipment is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site (up to 70-80% expected).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Proven ability to conduct tests ensuring quality and identifying defects using NDT methods.
  • Competence in inspecting Heat Exchangers using ECT methods.
