Position: Eddy Current Testing (ECT) Technician I

We are seeking a dedicated Eddy Current Testing (ECT) Technician I to join our team. This role is essential in supporting various technical assignments related to the design, evaluation, and operation of equipment and systems.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

The ECT Technician I will be responsible for performing routine inspections and technical tasks, contributing to the successful execution of inspection projects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

General Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and project management.
  • Engaging in the execution of inspection and outage projects, with roles determined by qualifications.
  • Coordinating with supervisors to prioritize and complete inspections effectively.
  • Participating in non-destructive testing (NDT) tasks in the field.
  • Providing hands-on support for all pre-deployment activities.
  • Completing inspection documentation accurately as per operational requirements.
  • Assisting in the assembly, testing, and refurbishment of equipment prior to deployment.
  • Conducting standard tests and inspections following verbal or written instructions, applying judgment as necessary.
  • Setting up tests using various materials and equipment under the guidance of senior personnel.
  • Documenting test results for comparison against established standards and noting any significant occurrences.
  • Preparing equipment for operational readiness.
  • Executing field tests under the supervision of qualified personnel.
  • Upholding quality and safety standards while focusing on customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of Continuous Improvement processes.
  • Performing equipment setup, calibration, and testing under supervision.
  • Assisting in training field staff for project execution.
  • Supporting necessary paperwork for inspection processes.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES DURING OUTAGE WORK

  • Performing duties as an acquisition operator or assistant, if qualified.
  • Potentially taking on lead responsibilities during absences, based on experience.
  • Aiding in inventory management and equipment control.
  • Supporting equipment shipment processes through packing and receiving.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in a relevant technical field (electrical, mechanical, or NDE) or equivalent experience (2-3 years).
  • Certification as a Level I NDT Technician with ECT specialization.
  • Familiarity with NDT methods and responsibility for training and guidance of trainees.
  • Mechanical experience with NDT equipment is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for site work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Proven capability in conducting tests to ensure quality and detect defects.
  • Competence in inspecting Heat Exchangers using ECT methods.
