Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at LifeLabs. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services, working closely with patients, healthcare professionals, and laboratory staff to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Phlebotomy Services: Perform phlebotomies, collect and process blood samples, and maintain accurate records of patient information.
  • Mobile Laboratory Services: Organize daily schedules of visits to facilities and private residences to collect specimens, plan routes according to courier times, specimen integrity, and required travel time.
  • Patient Communication: Greet and request required information from patients, explain the specimen collection process, and ensure patients have followed necessary test protocol prior to specimen collection.
  • Specimen Handling: Collect, transport, and deliver specimens to designated labs for testing, and maintain accurate records of specimen handling and processing.
  • Client Relationships: Liaise with doctors, facility staff, and CCAC staff regarding patient problems, changes in scheduling, specimen collection procedures, and other matters.

Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Experience: Phlebotomy experience and excellent communication skills.
  • Skills: Problem-solving skills, ability to maintain the strictest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and access to a vehicle.
