The Manager is tasked with delivering leadership and strategic direction for the oversight, utilization, risk management, and enhancement of quality in clinical operations within the Cancer Centre. This role emphasizes the promotion of the organization's mission and objectives by implementing and assessing standards, policies, practices, and procedures in designated areas; fostering collaborative team dynamics and innovation; and cultivating a practice environment that prioritizes evidence-based advancements in patient-centered care, while also supporting research, education, and training for both students and staff.

The Manager will oversee the virtual oncology nursing initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish strategic priorities and coordinate operational planning and execution for the Cancer Centre in collaboration with practice leaders and the Senior Director of Regional Clinical Operations. Work alongside regional and provincial colleagues, including medical and operational leaders, to support integrated and patient-focused care.
  • Provide comprehensive leadership and guidance to team members through effective management practices; engage in recruitment, retention, supervision, and recognition of staff.
  • Oversee service area operations by setting priorities, evaluating staffing needs, and managing supplies. Collaborate with key partners and stakeholders to define an effective workforce strategy that ensures adequate staff availability.
  • Develop and manage an operational budget, monitor discrepancies, and apply best practices in reporting, monitoring, and managing the allocated budget; oversee contract management as necessary.
  • Lead the identification of evidence-based outcomes, develop quality indicators and care pathways, ensure adherence to accreditation standards, and coordinate or participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field from an accredited institution; clinical nursing experience and a Master's degree are highly regarded.
  • 7-10 years of recent and relevant clinical experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Current registration/membership with the appropriate professional college (if applicable) is preferred.

Salary Range: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; 08:00-16:00
