Position Overview

As a Technical Team Leader at Shogun, you will guide and mentor a skilled team of engineers, spearheading the development and execution of innovative solutions that enhance our platform for merchants. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software, uphold best practices, and maintain a strong emphasis on user experience. Your responsibilities will include managing project timelines, optimizing workflows, and nurturing a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of new features and enhancements for Shogun.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Product, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliver high-quality software.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment, maintaining high standards of software quality.
  • Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and prioritization to align with the company vision.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading software engineering teams with a proven track record in developing highly available, scalable, and robust services for SaaS products.
  • At least 5 years of experience with either Ruby on Rails or React as a software engineer.
  • Experience in measuring performance metrics for both personnel and products.
  • Proven experience in growing software development teams through hiring and career development.
  • A passion for user experience and a commitment to creating top-tier tools for ecommerce store owners.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software engineering.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a history of delivering complex projects on schedule.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and development practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ecommerce platforms such as Shopify, BigCommerce, or Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

Compensation

Salary Range: Canada: C$148,750 – C$175,000

The final job level and compensation will be determined by various factors, including relevant work experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
