About the Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Executive Director of Advancement to lead our multi-disciplinary team in supporting the University's priorities in fundraising, donor stewardship, and relationship building with alumni.

As a strategic leader, you will provide direction to create initiatives that advance the university's goals and mission, working closely with the President and the MSVU leadership team. You will also collaborate with the Mount Saint Vincent Alumni Association to strengthen the University's global network of over 39,000 alumni through program development that recognizes and enhances lifelong relationships.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced team builder who can inspire, grow, and mentor staff, while building engagement within and external to the University. This position will work with senior management to facilitate financial support for MSVU and establish fundraising best practices and strategies for the Advancement team.

About You
  • You are a strategic, dynamic, solutions-focused leader with a proven track record of success in fundraising and team leadership.
  • You have effectively managed capital campaigns and other giving programs, securing gifts of $1M+.
  • You possess extensive knowledge of and experience with the donor/philanthropic community.
  • You have strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You are a skilled communicator, with the ability to write effective proposals and associated development materials.
  • You are committed to good stewardship and value accountability, respect, collaboration, professionalism, recognition, and creativity.
  • You have experience developing and leading the execution of annual and long-range fundraising strategies and operational plans.
  • You understand and appreciate the Mount's 150 years of history and commitment to social justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
  • You are a professional with 10+ years of progressive experience in a senior fundraising development role, with experience in a university setting being an asset.
