We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director of Equity and Engagement to join our team at The Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping our organization's diversity and inclusion strategy, ensuring that our workplace is inclusive and welcoming for all employees.
The successful candidate will provide strategic policy advice to our Deputy Minister, Associate Deputy Ministers, Chiefs, and the DHW Executive team, building internal capacity and ensuring that our department is aligned with the broader government corporate agenda for diversity and inclusion.
You will lead a division responsible for corporate functions, including public and stakeholder correspondence, internal communication, and engagement/consultation. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing diversity and inclusion strategies, policies, guidelines, standards, programs, and services that reflect our commitment to inclusivity.
Primary AccountabilitiesThe Executive Director will be accountable for:
- Consulting, leading, and managing a division to provide specialized expertise and change management related to issues of equity and diversity.
- Ensuring that corporate functions are effective and efficient, working collaboratively with other divisions to drive change management processes.
- Developing and implementing diversity and inclusion strategies, policies, guidelines, standards, programs, and services that promote inclusivity and reflect the commitment of Government.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Experience building successful relationships to support cultural change and a demonstrated passion for supporting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree or a professional designation in a related discipline, with extensive experience as a leader and manager of people.
- Significant experience working with partners and other stakeholders across industry, departments, and divisions to successfully achieve objectives.
