Job Description

Executive Director

The Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization in its next stage of development. As the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to our team, ensuring the effective implementation of our mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Governance
    • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the organization
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective governance
  • Strategic Planning and Development
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan to achieve our mission and vision
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize goals and objectives
  • Community Engagement and Development
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community partners and donors
    • Develop and implement programs and services to meet the needs of our community
  • Financial Management and Fundraising
    • Develop and manage budgets to ensure financial sustainability
    • Identify and pursue fundraising opportunities to support our mission and vision
  • Human Resources and Operations
    • Oversee the management of staff and volunteers
    • Ensure the effective operation of our programs and services
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Post-secondary degree program, or equivalent professional experience
    • Masters, (preferably in Business Admin) or related is an advantage
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Highly organized and experienced leader
    • Proven ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
    • Solid understanding of financing, strategic planning, and budget preparation
    • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with volunteers, boards, committees
    • Able to interpret by-laws, current legislation, acts, and regulations
    • Strong public speaking skills
    • Excellent communication skills in English
    • Must demonstrate advanced digital literacy and ability to work with/administer platforms and toolsets that facilitate online organizational work
Work Environment

The Executive Director will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a focus on community development and engagement. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to our mission and vision.

Salary

The salary for this position will be based on experience, with an expected range of $80- $90,000.
