Position Overview: The Department of University Relations at Academica Group is seeking applications for the role of Director of Advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team of managers and staff to support the institution's priorities in fundraising, donor stewardship, and alumni relationship building.
  • Report to the Associate Vice-President of University Relations and collaborate closely with the leadership team to provide strategic direction for initiatives that align with the institution's mission.
  • Work alongside the Alumni Association to enhance the global network of alumni through programs that foster lifelong relationships.
  • Utilize your extensive expertise to inspire, mentor, and develop staff while building engagement within and outside the institution.
  • Facilitate financial support for the institution and establish best practices for fundraising strategies.
  • Lead the execution of annual and long-term fundraising strategies and operational plans, including budget management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to build and lead teams, fostering talent and adhering to industry best practices.
  • Experience managing capital campaigns and securing significant donations, including gifts of $1M or more.
  • In-depth knowledge of the philanthropic community and donor relations.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects from conception to completion.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset, skilled in building trusted relationships with stakeholders.
  • Commitment to accountability, respect, collaboration, and creativity.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in senior fundraising roles, preferably in a university environment.
  • A university degree is required; a CFRE designation is a plus.
