Job Description

Executive Director of Advancement and Alumni Relations

The Academia Group is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as the Executive Director of Advancement and Alumni Relations. This key role will be responsible for leading the Advancement team in developing and implementing strategies to secure financial support for the University's priorities, including an upcoming multimillion-dollar campaign.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team of managers and staff in the areas of fundraising, donor and supporter stewardship, and relationship building with alumni.
  • Develop and implement strategies to strengthen the University's world-wide network of over 39,000 alumni through the development of programs that recognize and enhance an individual's lifelong relationship with the Mount.
  • Work with senior management to facilitate financial support for the University and establish fundraising best practices and strategies for the Advancement team.
  • Leverage expertise in fundraising, relationship management, data management, team leadership, and communications to drive results.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including staff, faculty, students, alumni, volunteers, and members of the University leadership team and Board of Governors.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in a senior fundraising development role, with experience in a university setting a definite asset.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once from conception to completion with tightly prescribed timelines.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to write effective proposals and associated development materials and correspondence.
  • Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset and ability to create and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong commitment to social justice and a commitment to advancing EDIA (equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility) and truth and reconciliation in keeping with the University's mission and strategic plan.
