IBM z/OS Security Advisory Consultant

Your Role and Responsibilities

The IBM z/OS Mainframe Security Advisory Consultants play a crucial role in assisting clients to establish systems that ensure the utmost level of data protection available in the market. They provide guidance on integrated enterprise security features and streamline intricate operational security workflows.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  1. A minimum of 5 years of experience with z/OS operating systems and associated products.
  2. At least 5 years of expertise in IBM RACF security solutions.
  3. Fundamental understanding of contemporary security threats, including detection and mitigation strategies.
  4. Minimum of 5 years of experience in client-facing roles, encompassing requirements gathering, documentation, presentation creation, and executive-level communication.
  5. Basic familiarity with various security compliance standards such as HIPAA, STIG, PCI, and GDPR.
  6. Technical proficiency in the IBM Z Security Portfolio, including zSecure, Pervasive Encryption, Crypto Express hardware, and Central Processor Assist for Cryptographic Function (CPACF).
  7. Knowledge of z/OS software and hardware releases in relation to enhancing Z security measures.
  8. Experience in compliance and audit processes, including generating secure reports to analyze security incidents and identify vulnerabilities.
  9. Willingness to travel 50-75% annually.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  1. Over 5 years of experience with various security compliance standards such as HIPAA, STIG, PCI, and GDPR.
  2. In-depth technical knowledge of the IBM Z Security Portfolio, including zSecure, RACF, Pervasive Encryption, Crypto Express hardware, and Central Processor Assist for Cryptographic Function (CPACF).
  3. Familiarity with z/OS software and hardware releases related to advancing Z security solutions.
  4. Experience in compliance and audit processes, generating secure reports to analyze security events and detect vulnerabilities.
  5. At least 2 years of experience with Pervasive Encryption, Crypto Express hardware, and Central Processor Assist for Cryptographic Function (CPACF).
  6. Minimum of 2 years of experience with TKE.
  7. At least 2 years of experience with IBM Security Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager (formerly known as SKLM).
  8. Experience in deploying and/or managing security for IBM z/OS.
