IBM z/OS Mainframe Solutions Consultant

Overview

As a pivotal member of the IBM Technology Expert Labs, you will engage in delivering exceptional services tailored to our clients' needs. Your expertise in IBM products will enable you to integrate various technologies and services, assisting customers in overcoming their most significant challenges.

Working within the IBM Technology Expert Labs, you will expedite the realization of value, ensuring that our clients can concentrate on their core business operations while we provide the necessary support.

Your Responsibilities

As a z/OS Mainframe and Storage Consultant, you will assist clients in optimizing their z/OS environments, including:

  • Consolidating z/OS LPARs
  • Utilizing DFSMShsm/dfp Fast Replication Services
  • Planning for sysplex splits between production and testing environments

Required Skills and Experience

You should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in:

  • Comprehensive understanding of IBM Z processor architecture and I/O adapters
  • Proficient in z/OS System Programming (ISPF/SDSF, z/FS Filesystem, Unix System Services, RACF, JES parameters, SYS1.PARMLIB, SYS1.PROCLIB)
  • Advanced knowledge in z/OS, Parallel Sysplex, High Availability, Storage, and Performance Tuning
  • Experience with z/OS Management Facility (z/OSMF)
  • Familiarity with IBM Z Container Extensions technology (zCX)
  • Storage Management expertise, including DASD and Tape administration
  • Catalog maintenance and management skills
  • Knowledge of DFSMS, DFHSM, and other storage management products
  • Programming skills in REXX or similar languages
  • Understanding of IBM DS8xxx and IBM TS77xx systems
  • Experience with VSAM RLS implementation and monitoring
  • Cloud object storage familiarity, particularly with IBM Transparent Cloud Tiering
  • Data Center migration and Disaster Recovery methodologies
