IBM z/OS Security Consultant

Your Role and Responsibilities

The IBM z/OS Mainframe Security Consultants play a crucial role in assisting clients to implement systems that ensure the utmost level of data protection available in the market. This involves providing guidance on integrated enterprise security features and streamlining intricate operational security procedures.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  1. Minimum of 5 years' experience with z/OS operating systems and associated products.
  2. At least 5 years' experience with the IBM RACF security solution.
  3. Fundamental understanding of current security threats, including identification and mitigation strategies.
  4. Minimum of 5 years' experience in client-facing roles, encompassing requirements analysis, documentation, presentation creation, and executive-level communication.
  5. Basic familiarity with various security regulations such as HIPAA, STIG, PCI, and GDPR.
  6. Technical expertise in the IBM Z Security Portfolio, including zSecure, Pervasive Encryption, Crypto Express hardware, and Central Processor Assist for Cryptographic Function (CPACF).
  7. Knowledge of z/OS software and IBM hardware releases in relation to enhancing Z security solutions.
  8. Experience in compliance and audit processes, generating secure reports to analyze security events and identify vulnerabilities.
  9. Willingness to travel 50-75% annually.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  1. Over 5 years of experience with various security regulations such as HIPAA, STIG, PCI, and GDPR.
  2. In-depth technical knowledge of the IBM Z Security Portfolio, including zSecure, RACF, Pervasive Encryption, Crypto Express hardware, and Central Processor Assist for Cryptographic Function (CPACF).
  3. Familiarity with z/OS software and IBM hardware releases concerning advancements in Z security solutions.
  4. Experience in compliance and audit activities, generating secure reports to assess security incidents and detect vulnerabilities.
  5. At least 2 years of experience with Pervasive Encryption, Crypto Express hardware, and Central Processor Assist for Cryptographic Function (CPACF).
  6. Minimum of 2 years of experience with TKE.
  7. At least 2 years of experience with IBM Security Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager (formerly known as SKLM).
  8. Experience in deploying and/or managing security for IBM z/OS.
