IBM z/OS Mainframe Solutions Consultant

Overview

As a member of the IBM Technology Expert Labs, you will engage in delivering exceptional services to our clientele. Your expertise in IBM products will enable you to integrate various technologies and services, assisting customers in overcoming their most significant challenges.

Working within the IBM Technology Expert Labs allows you to expedite value realization while ensuring that our clients can concentrate on their core business operations.

Your Responsibilities

As a consultant specializing in IBM z/OS Systems Lab Services, you will assist clients in:

  • Consolidating z/OS LPARs
  • Utilizing DFSMShsm/dfp Fast Replication Services
  • Planning sysplex splits for production and testing environments

Required Skills and Experience

To qualify for this role, you should possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with IBM Z processor design and I/O adapters
  • Proficiency in z/OS system programming (ISPF/SDSF, z/FS Filesystem, Unix System Services, RACF, JES parameters)
  • Expertise in z/OS, Parallel Sysplex, High Availability, and Storage Performance
  • Experience with z/OS Management Facility (z/OSMF)
  • Knowledge of IBM Z Container Extensions technology (zCX)
  • Deep understanding of mainframe storage administration and catalog management
  • Familiarity with DFSMS, DFHSM, and other storage management products
  • Programming skills in REXX or similar languages
  • Experience with Data Center migrations and Disaster Recovery methodologies

Preferred Skills

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • Analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Experience in mainframe systems software programming
  • Proficiency in TSO/ISPF, JES2, RMF, SMF
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
