Lecturer, Emergency Conditions in Athletic Therapy

Njoyn is seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Athletic Therapist to join our academic team in the Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences – Athletic Therapy program. We are looking for a part-time instructor to deliver the ATHL30000 Emergency Conditions 3 - Advanced Skills course. This course involves the use of high-fidelity simulation manikins that replicate injured athletes in realistic emergency situations. Students will implement essential emergency protocols on the manikins and reflect on their actions through debriefing sessions. Collaborative group activities will also be part of the curriculum, focusing on various treatment options for injured athletes.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitating course content in both classroom and online settings, ensuring students are aware of course objectives, methodologies, and assessment criteria;
- Providing tutoring and academic support to students, while monitoring their progress and taking responsibility for evaluating their performance in assigned courses;
- Establishing, assessing, and validating learning outcomes, along with designing effective strategies and tools for evaluating student learning;
- Creating tailored instructional materials and multimedia presentations, integrating technology into the educational experience where relevant;
- Participating in regular faculty meetings.

Qualifications
- Certified Athletic Therapist with 3 to 5 years of professional experience in an Athletic Therapy environment or a related field;
- Certified First Responder Instructor, Canadian Red Cross, with 3 to 5 years of experience in on-field sports medical coverage;
- Advanced knowledge in Emergency Medicine;
- Practical experience in Athletic Therapy;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat;
- Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level or equivalent experience as a trainer in Healthcare.
