Professor, Athletic Therapy Program

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Certified Athletic Therapist to join our faculty team in the Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences – Athletic Therapy program. As a Professor, you will be responsible for teaching the ATHL30000 Emergency Conditions 3 - Advanced Skills course, which focuses on utilizing high-fidelity simulation manikins to mimic injured athletes in mock emergency scenarios.
Key Responsibilities- Course Delivery: Deliver course curriculum in a classroom and/or online setting, ensuring student awareness of course objectives, approach, and evaluation techniques.
- Tutoring and Academic Counselling: Tutor and academically counsel students, evaluating student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of students' work within assigned courses.
- Learning Outcomes: Define, evaluate, and validate learning outcomes and design appropriate strategies and tools for assessing student learning.
- Instructional Design: Develop individualized instruction and multi-media presentations, incorporating technology into the learning process where applicable.
- Team Collaboration: Attend periodic faculty meetings and contribute to the advancement of the Athletic Therapy program.
- Certified Athletic Therapist: Possess a Certified Athletic Therapist designation with 3 to 5 years of professional experience in an Athletic Therapy setting or a related field.
- First Responder Instructor: Hold a Certified First Responder Instructor designation from the Canadian Red Cross with 3 to 5 years of experience in on-field sport medical coverage.
- Advanced Knowledge: Possess advanced knowledge in Emergency Medicine and practical experience in Athletic Therapy.
- Technical Skills: Have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Teaching Experience: Possess experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level or equivalent experience as a trainer in Healthcare.
