Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team at William Osler Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, the RPN will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-focused nursing care to patients who require less complex care and have predictable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients in a compassionate and caring manner
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to ensure optimal health outcomes
  • Collaborate with the inter-professional healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Provide health education and discharge instructions to patients and families to ensure continuity of care
  • Respond to emergency situations and consult with colleagues as needed
Requirements
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum two years of medical/surgical experience
  • Recent experience in surgical care is preferred
  • Certification in IV therapy and phlebotomy
  • Experience in transfusion medicine
  • Strong knowledge of nursing process, theory, and responsibilities to the nursing profession
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team
Working Conditions
  • Hours: Days/evenings, 8 and 12 hour shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays
  • Salary: $34.26 - $37.05 per hour
  • May be required to travel and work between all Osler sites
