POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly qualified finance executive who embodies the values of CIS Ontario to assume the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The ideal candidate will:

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The CFO will report directly to the Principal and will be an integral member of the Leadership Team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic financial guidance to the Principal and Board committees, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and values.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with various stakeholders, including staff, students, parents, and alumni.
  • Collaborating with the UTS Foundation to support financial objectives and strategic initiatives.
  • Leading a team of finance professionals, overseeing daily operations and ensuring adherence to best practices in financial management.
  • Engaging in long-term financial planning and budgeting processes, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet organizational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A university degree in Accounting or Finance, along with a recognized professional accounting designation (C.P.A, C.A., C.M.A., C.G.A.).
  • 7 to 10 years of progressive management experience in financial oversight, preferably within the non-profit sector.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with proficiency in advanced financial software and tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a focus on collaboration and strategic problem-solving.

FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT

Under the guidance of the Principal and Finance Committee, the CFO will:

  • Deliver timely financial reports and fulfill fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Advise on financial policies and collaborate on internal controls.
  • Oversee budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.

STRATEGIC INITIATIVES

The CFO will also play a vital role in:

  • Supporting capital projects and strategic planning efforts.
  • Engaging with various departments to align financial strategies with organizational objectives.
