Position Overview

The Employee Benefits Specialist based in Hamilton, Ontario, plays a crucial role in supporting the Canadian Benefits team in overseeing the Group Insurance and RRSP programs across the nation. This role necessitates a physical presence at the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

Group Insurance Management

  • Monitor eligibility for group insurance and enter relevant data into our systems;
  • Generate detailed reports to implement changes on the insurer's administration portal;
  • Assist employees with modifications to their insurance plans;
  • Calculate group insurance premiums as required;
  • Follow up on premium payments for employees on leave and coordinate with accounting and payroll;
  • Support the Benefits Technician in managing disability claims.

RRSP Administration

  • Track RRSP eligibility and maintain accurate data records;
  • Create reports to facilitate updates on the Group RRSP administration portal;
  • Assist employees with their RRSP inquiries and changes;
  • Analyze benefit-related metrics and generate reports;
  • Contribute to the planning of benefit-related initiatives, including information sessions and webinars;
  • Collaborate with our Employee Assistance Program to enhance service visibility;
  • Manage communications in the Benefits inbox;
  • Promote our benefits offerings during employee onboarding and throughout the year.

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience; a combination of education and experience may also be considered;
  • Strong communication skills; proficiency in French is an asset;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and related software;
  • Demonstrates discretion, resourcefulness, and independence;
  • A collaborative team player.

*Occasional travel to various company divisions may be required.
