The Role: Benefits Coordinator

As a Benefits Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in supporting the Canadian Benefits team (based in Quebec) in managing the company's Group Insurance and RRSP programs across Canada. This position requires on-site presence in Hamilton, Ontario.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Group Insurance:
    • Track group insurance eligibility and input data into systems.
    • Generate reports to effect changes on the insurer's administrator portal.
    • Assist employees with insurance changes.
    • Calculate group insurance premiums as needed.
    • Follow up on premium payments for employees on leave of absence, liaising with accounting and payroll departments.
    • Support the Benefits Technician in managing disability files.
  • Group RRSP:
    • Track RRSP eligibility and input data into systems.
    • Generate reports to effect changes on the Group RRSP administrator portal.
    • Assist employees with RRSP changes.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Generate reports and analyze benefit-related metrics.
    • Participate in planning benefit-related activities, such as information sessions, kiosks, webinars, etc.
    • Work with our Employee Assistance Program to promote their services.
    • Manage and reply to emails in the Benefits inbox.
    • Promote our benefits during employee onboarding and year-round.
    • File documents.
Qualifications:
  • One to three years of relevant experience. Any combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Proficient communication skills; French speaking is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of Word, Excel, etc.
  • Discrete, resourceful, and autonomous.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Team player.
