About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiological Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care while operating radiological/accessory equipment with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of the ALARA principle and be able to apply it effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for effective communication in a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary environment and fostering a culture of safety in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic or therapeutic procedures requiring the use of ionizing radiation
  • Operate radiological/accessory equipment with minimal supervision
  • Exercise independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in a dynamic environment
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Foster a culture of safety and quality in the workplace
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Previous experience in Diagnostic Imaging is an asset
  • Qualification to work in more than one Diagnostic Imaging modality is an asset
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision
  • Possess the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position
  • Demonstrated initiative, organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within inter-professional teams
