Position Overview

The Radiologic Technologist plays a crucial role in the healthcare system, responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures that assist in patient care.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a College or CEGEP program in Medical Radiologic Technology.
  • Experience: Previous experience is considered an asset.
  • Certification: Must be certified by a provincial or territorial association.
Work Environment
  • Settings include radiological laboratories and hospital or medical facilities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Explain imaging procedures to patients to ensure understanding and comfort.
  • Record and process results from imaging procedures accurately.
  • Implement radiation protection measures to ensure patient safety.
  • Conduct basic verification and quality control checks on imaging and film processing equipment.
  • Document and manage patient data effectively.
  • Provide care and monitor patients throughout the examination process.
  • Operate ultrasound imaging equipment to generate and document images.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments to enhance workflow.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as record keeping and scheduling.
  • Compile and verify applications, licenses, permits, and other necessary documentation.
  • Assist patients by providing information and care during tests.
  • Gather medical information from patients and other healthcare professionals.
