About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at IWK Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education and Training
    • Ensure compliance with educational requirements and professional development standards.
  • Experience and Skills
    • Utilize your expertise in medical radiologic technology/science to perform a range of diagnostic imaging procedures.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Work Setting
    • Work in a fast-paced radiological laboratory environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Tasks and Responsibilities
    • Explain procedures to patients, ensuring they understand their diagnosis and treatment options.
    • Record and process results of procedures, maintaining accurate and detailed documentation.
    • Apply radiation protection measures to ensure patient and staff safety.
    • Perform basic verification and quality control checks on radiographic and film processing equipment.
    • Record and process patient data, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection policies.
    • Provide appropriate care and monitoring of patients during examinations, prioritizing their comfort and well-being.
    • Operate ultrasound imaging equipment to produce and record high-quality images.
    • Coordinate work activities with other departments, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
    • Carry out administrative and clerical activities, including record keeping, scheduling, and data entry.
    • Compile, verify, record, and process applications, licenses, permits, contracts, registrations, requisitions, and other forms and documents.
    • Provide information and care for patients during tests, addressing their concerns and needs.
    • Collect medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection policies.
  • Certifications, Licenses, Memberships, and Courses
    • Ensure certification by a provincial or territorial association is maintained and up-to-date.
