Job Summary:

The Regional Sales Director - Nova Scotia/Newfoundland will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to drive business growth in the region. This individual will be in direct contact with all Rexel Atlantic personnel within the region, including the General Manager, District Managers, Branch Managers, Account Managers, Inside/Counter sales, and customers and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Sales Strategies: Propose annual sales and operating budgets for the region and ensure they are closely monitored and achieved.
  • Customer Engagement: Meet with key customers to discuss market trends, future business, resolve concerns, and increase customer awareness while supporting the sales and marketing plans within the customer base.
  • Leadership and Management: Provide effective management through strong leadership and direction with immediate subordinates. Coordinate dealings with Rexel Atlantic departments, outside manufacturers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Staff Development: Ensure staff receives the required levels of training by identifying future skills necessary to carry out assigned responsibilities.
  • Operational Efficiency: Ensure operational efficiency and excellence through effective coordination of operational resources within the region and in concert with Divisional and Corporate personnel.
  • Quality, Health and Safety, and Asset Control: Meet Corporate objectives and expectations for quality, health and safety, and asset control initiatives.
  • Supplier Management: Utilize and coordinate the services of the Marketing, Marketing Services, Product Management, Inventory Replenishment, and Credit Management Departments for the effective growth of the region while ensuring risk is minimized and managed.
  • Regional Growth: Create, monitor, and implement Supplier plans for regional growth while optimizing Rexel Atlantic's opportunities for rebates and utilization of promotional funds, in concert with the plans for the Division.

Requirements:

  • Education: University/College degree plus a minimum of ten (10) years related experience in the industry, including at least five (5) years in a senior management capacity, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen to analyze financial reports and to develop appropriate implementation strategies to meet/exceed operational/fiscal plans and targets.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Ability to build strategic partnerships and identify potential sales opportunities.
  • Time Management and Organization: Strong time management, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership and Coaching: Ability to lead, mentor, and coach staff. Must be able to make difficult decisions.
