Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Description:

The Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for overseeing the maintenance of underground and surface fixed equipment, including hoists, conveyances, shafts, crushers, rockbreakers, conveyors, pumping systems, compressors, fuel bays, overhead cranes, fire systems, building maintenance, and HVAC systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Enforce compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and ensure workers follow safety protocols.
  • Review and recommend improvements to accident prevention practices.
  • Investigate hazards and implement remedial actions.
  • Provide a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring proper training and equipment operation.
  • Complete accident investigation reports, inspections, and safety audits.
  • Comply with monthly routine checks and hold daily cell safety meetings.
  • Work with underground supervisors to develop production plans and schedules.
  • Identify and organize resources to achieve production targets.
  • Ensure adequate materials and equipment are available.
  • Administer maintenance plans to support operating performance.
  • Schedule daily activities to maximize efficiency.
  • Perform physical inspections to ensure quality, production, and safety standards.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods and equipment performance.
  • Communicate activities during shift change and through the shift log.
  • Enforce compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Anticipate and implement solutions to problems.
  • Apply relevant discipline promptly.
  • Promote a continuous improvement culture.
  • Formulate and follow the Cell training plan.
  • Maintain working relations between departments and contractors.
  • Communicate with management personnel and employees to review direction and resolve problems.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of trade-related experience, with a Trades Ticket preferred.
  • Previous supervising experience preferred.
  • U/G Common Core preferred.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Adhere to Barrick core values.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in an underground mining environment required.
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards.
