We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Barrick. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of underground and surface fixed equipment, ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce compliance with all applicable regulations and policies, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
- Develop and implement maintenance plans to support desired operating performance, maximizing productivity and efficiency.
- Coordinate with underground supervisors to ensure availability of manpower, equipment, tools, and resources to achieve production targets.
- Perform physical inspections to determine if work meets company standards in regard to quality, production, and safety.
- Recommend measures or changes to improve production methods, equipment performance, and use of equipment and personnel to increase efficiency.
- Ensure all work completed supports activities of subsequent shifts, communicating these activities during shift change and through the shift log.
- Enforce compliance consistently and fairly with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Anticipate and implement solutions to problems that may occur in operations through troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Promote and encourage supervision in establishing a continuous improvement culture.
- Formulate and follow the Cell training plan to ensure all necessary training is complete.
- Maintain proper working relations between mine departments and all other departments, including contractor relationships.
- Communicate with General Foremen, Supervisors, Departments, and other employees to review direction, resolve problems, recommend priorities, and corrective measures to improve operations and conditions of the entire mine.
- Minimum 10 years of trade-related experience, Trades Ticket preferred.
- Previous supervising experience preferred.
- U/G Common Core preferred.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Adhere to Barrick core values.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in an underground mining environment required.
- Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards.
