Position: Moulding Operations Technician

Hours of Work: 40 hours/week

Salary: $30.00-$33.00 CAD per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate machinery and robotic systems to prepare for daily production and operate moulding equipment to create plastic products as per specifications.
  • Change moulds and adjust machinery for production line modifications, providing backup for mould changers during absences.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment using hand and pneumatic tools, assisting with basic maintenance as trained.
  • Set up moulds according to company work instructions and monitor the quality of produced materials, adjusting machine settings as necessary.
  • Follow formulation guidelines to mix ingredient batches for the injection moulding process and manage material changes, ensuring optimal use of regrind.
  • Report production or equipment issues to the supervisor and maintain material inventory while ensuring a clean workspace.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to analyze and resolve production and quality challenges.
  • Provide backup supervision during breaks and absences.
  • Ensure new employees receive proper training and support to meet production targets.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a safe work environment through compliance with company safety practices.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent work experience is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in injection moulding or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is essential.
  • Experience in troubleshooting machinery and processes is required.
  • Forklift certification and crane training are preferred.
  • Willingness to learn through on-the-job training.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
  • Availability for primary shift coverage and flexibility for alternative shifts is required.
