Job Summary

Halifax Regional Municipality is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Program Coordinator. This is a term position (up to 12 months) with Halifax Transit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage sustainable transportation programs and initiatives for employers, government, educational institutions, community organizations, and other targeted groups.
  • Conduct ongoing jurisdictional and market scans for sustainable transportation initiatives, including best practices, governance models, and trends.
  • Build and sustain relationships with various organizations, including employers, universities, business associations, community groups, and institutions.
  • Develop and implement creative programs and education projects to encourage behavioral change.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on various sustainable transportation-related topics.
  • Develop and maintain performance measures to evaluate the success of transit programs and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Public Relations, Communications, Business, Community, or other relevant degree.
  • Three years of related experience in the field of sustainable transportation/transit planning, and/or coordinating or administering programs for a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of sustainable transportation choices and benefits.
  • Ability to prepare written materials for a wide variety of purposes.
  • Ability to adapt information and communication to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of reading comprehension, including the ability to review technical documents.
  • Demonstrated creative skills to develop educational and promotional materials and encourage behavioral change.
  • Strong ability to plan, organize work, and communicate with others.

Work Status

Term, Full-Time

Hours of Work

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm. Additional hours may be required due to project schedules.

Salary

Level 8, $38.48 per hour, as per the NSGEU Local 222 Collective Agreement.

TD Building, 12th Floor, Halifax.
