Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Behavioral Health Program Coordinator in our Continuing Care sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for facilitating and supporting the implementation of our Behavioral Health Program, working closely with our Continuing Care Behavioral Health Manager to enhance the capacity of our providers to deliver high-quality care to older adults with complex cognitive and mental health needs.
The ideal candidate will possess a university degree in a regulated healthcare profession, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the field. They will also be a member in good standing with a relevant college or regulatory governing body in Nova Scotia. Additionally, they will have a strong background in working with clients with responsive behavior in the Continuing Care sector, geriatrics, mental health, and/or ABI populations.
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership and collaboration to promote the coordination and integration of services
- Developing and delivering education programs and facilitating knowledge transfer with both individuals and teams using adult learning principles
- Working autonomously and creatively, as well as collaboratively with other professionals and para-professionals
- Maintaining confidentiality and managing sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy
- Traveling to other sites throughout the Central Zone, with a valid Nova Scotia driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred. The successful candidate will be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
HoursThis is a full-time, long-assignment position, with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hours of work may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation and IncentivesThe hourly rate for this position is $36.45 - $44.31. The successful candidate will also be eligible for our benefits package.
