About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Programs & Engagement, the Program Coordinator plays a vital role in developing, delivering, and managing sustainable transportation programs and initiatives for various stakeholders including employers, government agencies, educational institutions, community organizations, and targeted groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct ongoing research on sustainable transportation initiatives, best practices, governance models, and trends within the industry.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of organizations to develop impactful programs and initiatives aligned with Halifax Transit's goals.
  • Take ownership of program development, implementation, delivery, and monitoring across various sustainable transportation projects. This includes but is not limited to the Rural Transit Funding Program, Affordable Access Transit Pass Program, Department of Community Services Pass Program, UPass Program, Smart Trip Program, Discounted Fares Program, Accessible Taxi Program, and Student Transportation Programs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful program execution and achieve desired outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of sustainable transportation principles and practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

A relevant degree or diploma in urban planning, environmental studies, public administration, or a related field is preferred.
