Advanced Practice Nurse

The Nurse Practitioner will provide primary care to residents in a long-term care setting, working within their legislative scope of practice as described by the College of Nurses Ontario. The successful candidate will collaborate with the resident, family/caregiver, and healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate the resident's plan of care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and mentorship to the LTCH staff
- Lead and collaborate with research, education, and evidence-based practice initiatives
- Direct and maintain the highest standard in delivering excellent resident-focused care
- Support and lead the nursing division, recommending improvements to efficient utilization of human and physical resources
- Ensure continuous quality improvement outcomes are met or exceeded
- Master's degree with studies in Nursing and/or Geriatrics
- Current Certificate of Competence in good standing as a Nurse Practitioner with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- 3 years of previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner
- 1 year of previous experience in a supervisory role in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care facilities
- Exceptional documentation and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain lasting working relationships
- Demonstrated time management skills
- Effective leadership skills, with a focus on teaching and coaching
- Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies
