Registered Practical Nurse Position at Braemar Retirement Centre
Braemar Retirement Centre, a respected Long Term Care establishment in Wingham, Ontario, is seeking dedicated and skilled Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) to enhance our compassionate care team. As a recognized RNAO Best Practice Spotlight organization, we pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative and resident-focused atmosphere.
The RPN will report directly to the Director of Care and will be tasked with delivering high-quality resident care in accordance with our organizational policies, legislative requirements, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to nursing care standards and organizational protocols
- Assist in the formulation of personalized Resident Care Plans
- Perform timely assessments and evaluations of residents
- Ensure a resident-centered care environment
- Oversee Health Care Aides and Personal Support Workers
- Administer medications in compliance with established protocols
- Maintain precise clinical documentation
- Facilitate effective communication with residents and team members
- Provide mentorship and training to new staff members
- Engage in mandatory education and training sessions
- Uphold health and safety standards
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Registered Practical Nurse from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current CPR certification
- Proficient communication skills in English
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Previous experience in Long Term Care is preferred
- Additional training in relevant fields is advantageous
This role offers Full-time and Part-time permanent positions with varied shifts, including evenings, mornings, and weekends as required.
