Job Summary

The Admissions Counsellor, Undergraduate plays a vital role in implementing strategies to achieve recruitment and enrollment management objectives at Tyndale University. This position involves communicating with prospective undergraduate students, building relationships, and developing interest in our institution.

Main Responsibilities

Recruitment

  • Recruit well-qualified students to Tyndale by engaging with prospective undergraduate students and promoting our institution's academic programs.
  • Represent Tyndale at off-campus events to promote our university's mission and values.
  • Identify opportunities to promote Tyndale off-campus and develop strategies to increase student enrollment.
  • Provide prospective students with guidance and support towards undergraduate education.
  • Collaborate with Student Admissions representatives to follow up with prospective students and ensure a smooth application process.
  • Participate as an active member of the Admissions team to achieve recruitment and enrollment goals.

Application Processing

  • Ensure prospective students receive clear and timely communication regarding their application status.
  • Process and evaluate undergraduate application files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Notify applicants of application decisions and provide post-acceptance instructions.
  • Identify and remove barriers for undergraduate applicants to ensure a fair and inclusive application process.
  • Document correspondence with undergraduate students and track application status.
  • Provide status reports on assigned regions, as required.

Position Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.

Experience

  • 1-2 years of sales or recruiting experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Experience working with a Christian higher education institution, preferred.
  • Experience in database management, preferred.
  • Marketing and customer relations experience, preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated customer service skills with a focus on building strong relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills with experience speaking to audiences of all sizes.
  • Working knowledge of basic office equipment and computer software.
  • Organizational skills with a high attention to detail.

Physical and Mental Demands

  • Working non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, during heavy event seasons.
  • Able to lift and carry promotional materials and equipment.
  • Travel required for off-campus events and recruitment activities.
  • May experience stress in dealing with challenging people and situations.
