The University of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled Admissions Counsellor to join our team. As an Admissions Counsellor, you will play a critical role in supporting the assessment and processing of applications to undergraduate programmes.
Key Responsibilities- Application Assessment: Review and assess admissions applications to ensure that they meet the necessary criteria for undergraduate programmes.
- Counselling Services: Provide expert counselling services to students and their families on the admissions process, including programme options and requirements, cut-offs, appeals, transfer credits, and University admissions policies.
- Operational Support: Perform a variety of operational administrative functions, including developing and presenting workshops and presentations to the University community on admission topics, working with multiple systems to annotate and update documents, and serving as a resource to assigned university colleges, faculties, or departments.
- Policy Interpretation: Interpret academic regulations, programme and degree requirements, and provide detailed explanations of admissions decisions.
- Statistical Analysis: Analyze statistical information to inform admissions projections and planning activities.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum four (4) years relevant experience in a high volume admissions environment, preferably in a university or college institution.
- Skills: Direct experience in counselling students in admissions to undergraduate programmes, experience conducting presentations/workshops/training sessions, and experience interpreting and applying University and education systems worldwide admissions policies and requirements.
- Personal Qualities: Strong student service orientation, ability to effectively provide information and advice to staff, students, and the general public, and ability to work in a high volume environment and adapt to new procedures quickly and accurately.
- Competitive Salary: USW Pay Band 12 - $79,874 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $102,147.
